Adi Narayan's 2010 article A Spoonful of Medicine: Too Often the Wrong Dose asserts that regarding a new research Cornell Researchers asked 195 university alumni to pour out one teaspoon (5ml) of cold medicine into spoons. These researchers conveyed this research because millions of people take the wrong dose of medicine, whether it is too much or a little. This happens because the people taking the medicine use different sizes of spoons and in various cases the spoons are not the quantity they should be taking. During the research they came to conclusion that the people taking the medicine either pour out an average of 8% too little, or 12% too much thus depending on the size of the spoon. The people who took the 12% too much and overdosed and this is where they found the conflict. By conducting this research they are not assuring that dosing cups and droppers are the best solution for adults and children because the level marks are not always clear. Narayan also believes that they shouldn't put a warning for people to stop using spoons, but they should be more precarious with the size of spoon they use.
